Hi all,

Creativity Explored (CE) is a San Francisco nonprofit that partners with artists with developmental disabilities to create an artistic, studio-based collective where the creative capacity of any person can flourish. For over 40 years, CE has supported disabled artists by providing them with skilled artistic mentors, studio and gallery space, and career support. This year, CE is becoming an intergenerational organization that will serve 300 young artists alongside 140 adult artists. CE is founded on the belief that art changes lives, recognizing the power of creative expression and self-determination. CE’s founders, Florence Ludins-Katz and Elias Katz, an artist and psychologist, formed the organization in 1983 in response to the nationwide deinstitutionalization of disabled people, which left many unhoused, unsupported, and unseen. To center the experiences of people with disabilities, CE operates with a Person Centered Thinking approach, placing our artists at the center of our community.

That's why I created a fundraiser to support CREATIVITY EXPLORED. Their campaign to Last year, the SFMOMA and the Oakland Museum of California added a record number of CE artworks to their collections, helping CE artists earn money and live their best lives. This year, CE has launched new youth programming, which will help more than 300 young people, most of them disabled, deepen their creativity and explore their futures. CE’s adult artists will mentor and support these young artists, deepening our community ties.

I am inviting CE community members like you to rally their friends, family, and networks to support CE's work. By becoming a fundraiser for Creativity Explored, you will support Creativity Explored's studio and youth programs, showing our artists what kind of career and life is possible when backed by a caring and experienced community.
